These unbelievable pictures of the Aurora Borealis (or Northern lights) were taken in Alaska and Finland. They are usually only seen in the skies around the North Pole. This electromagnetic phenomenon was once called 'The Dance of the Spirits'. They seem to have been painted on the sky by a huge brush wielded with complete creative abandon. I find the incredible shapes, forms and colours in these pictures inspirational. I hope they do the same for you!
