Earlier this week we went for a family day out to the Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham. For a few days each Christmas, for the last ten years, the streets of Birmingham have become host to a wonderfully incongruous event as they get taken over by an authentic German street market. We had a FANTASTIC time - we scoffed sausages in a little wooden hut and it was hard to believe we were in Birmingham! We all had a ride on the beautiful carousel pictured below and just wandered all the Germanic-looking huts along the streets. Even the un-Christmassy downpour didn't cut the surreal charm. A lovely start to the holiday.
Happy Christmas or Seasonal Greetings!
(I'll be back doing some more 'blogging' in 2012.)
