autumn to winter: sculptural inspiration

Autumn changes to winter  as November gives way to December in this part of the world, and the frosting on bright autumn leaves seems the essence of this delicate seasonal interface.  I found these amazing images for you, the work of Latvian photographer Dainis Matisons. The colours are wonderful but it is the forms which are fantastic. The colours are the neutral pales of the ice crystals spiked by the golden flashes of the leaves, nature's proof that the neutrals of minimalism can come to life against sharp colour. The shapes and forms evoke the inside of a fairy ice palace. Their inspiration is both architectural and sculptural. Hope they inspire you too!
